Wendy Maisey, OBE was first elected Chairman on 7th March 2020 and subsequently reelected on 12th June 2021. She was the Parliamentary Candidate for GE19 for Warrington North. She received the OBE medal in the Queen's New Year Honours for outstanding services to the UK Economy and International Trade. Wendy was elected the Borough Councillor for Culcheth, Glazebury and Croft on 6th May 2021.
Wendy said: 'I’ve always been ingrained within my community doing what I can to help people with issues and supporting the vulnerable. During the first Covid lockdown I set up a branch of ‘Helping Hands’ in the heart of Culcheth. The priority was ensuring all vulnerable people throughout WA3 received weekly essential hampers.
Putting myself forward as a candidate Councillor where I live made sense as a next step. Having a strong voice to represent residents at the Town Hall is an absolute privilege. I was elected on a promise of protecting the greenbelt in and around our villages, opposing the Golborne Spur and holding the council to account on its finances. That’s exactly what I’m doing and will always work hard on the electorate's behalf'.
